Biography
Professor Wonshik Choi received his BS (1997), MS (1999), and Ph.D. (2004) degrees from Physics Department at Seoul National University and worked as a postdoctoral researcher at George R. Harrison Spectroscopy Laboratory, MIT from 2006 to 2009. Afterward, he joined Physics Department at Korea University in September 2009 as an Assistant Professor and became a full professor in 2017. He took an Associate Directorship at the Center for Molecular Spectroscopy and Dynamics (CMSD), Institute for Basic Science (IBS), Korea from July 2016.
His research interest includes the control of wave propagation within scattering media, high-resolution deep-tissue imaging, far-field control of near-field waves, and ultra-thin endoscopic microscope. On the ground of these recent studies, his laboratory has set the research direction to resolve tissue turbidity for super-depth optical imaging, light manipulation, and phototherapy.
