Biography

Ciro VASMARA was born in Salerno, 05 November 1980. He graduated at University of Naples “Federico II” (Italy) in Animal Husbandry Sciences and Technologies in 2007 with thesis entitled “Variazione dell’attività motoria nella bufala in funzione del periodo”. In 2018 he received the title of Philosophiae Doctor at the “Alma Mater Studiorum” University of Bologna (Italy) with a thesis entitled “Biohydrogen production from cheese factory waste”.
From October 2010, he was appointed as a microbiologist researcher at the Council for Agricultural Research and Economics, as detailed in the grant list reported below. Starting from 2019, he took a permanent position at the Council for Agricultural Research and Economics, Research Centre for Animal production and Aquaculture, site in Monterotondo (ITALY).
MAIN RESEARCH INTEREST
Biogas (hydrogen and methane), chemicals, and value-added compounds production in a biorefinery concept.
The efficiency of biomass pre-treatment to enhance microbial activity.
Wastewater, animal manure, and alternative biomass (biodegradable plastics, spent coffee grounds, giant reed…) for bioenergy production
