Biography

I am senior researcher of the group on Biomass Production and Plantation Forestry of the University of Eastern Finland (UEF, Joensuu). I also collaborate as Assoc. Prof. at the dept. of Crop Production Ecology at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU, Uppsala), and as an Assoc. Member Researcher at the Forest Science Centre of Catalonia (CTFC, Solsona). In the past, I worked as Res. Prof. at the dept. of Forest Production of the Norwegian Institute for Bioeconomy Research (NIBIO, Ås). My main research lines focus on all topics related to biomass production, both from forest management and fast-growing plantations. My interests entail the production, management and economic aspects, land use, policy framework, environmental effects and social consequences of their development.
