Biography
My research focuses on the bioacoustics, behaviour and ecology of birds. I began my journey into songbird bioacoustics by studying song variation in fragmented populations and conducting playback experiments with the Hawai'i 'elepaio (Chasiempis sandwichensis). This journey through bioacoustic research continued during my PhD (2020-2024 / Charles University), where I studied the evolution and geographic variation of bird song in island and mainland systems, using migratory and sedentary pipit species as models. I also investigated the behavioural effects of playback-based bird capture and developed efficient methods for individual acoustic monitoring.
I continue to be an active collaborator of my former research group at Charles University, pursuing new projects focusing on song behaviour, bioacoustics and bird ecology. I am currently spending a few months at the Max Plank Institute for Biological Intelligence, studying the song of migratory and sedentary species in urban environments.
