Biography
Yi-Fu Cai is a professor of physics and astronomy at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC). He also serves as the deputy director of the Office of International Cooperation at USTC. He got PhD majored in theoretical physics at the Institute of High Energy Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2010. He worked as a postdoc at Arizona State University and McGill University until 2015. Afterwards, he was awarded by the Chinese National Youth Talents Program in 2015 and became a faculty at USTC. His research focuses on fundamental questions for cosmology, namely, the big bang singularity, the destiny of the universe, the theories of cosmological perturbations and the cosmic microwave background (CMB). His particle cosmology group at USTC is responsible for scientific goals of the China’s CMB project associated with the origin of our universe.
