Biography

Shabir (S'13. M'18, SM'19) received the B.Sc. (Hons) degree in electrical and electronics engineering from Kabul University, Kabul, Afghanistan in 2009, and the M.E. and the PhD degree in power engineering from The University of Sydney, Sydney, Australia, in 2014 and 2018, respectively. From 2009 to 2013, he worked as an electrical engineer in various projects in Afghanistan. The projects that he was involved with includes; power system coordination studies, feasibility study of transmission lines, electrification projects, gas-fired power plant rehabilitation and mini-hydro power plant renovation. From 2017 to 2018 he was with WSP as a Power System Engineer, mostly performing grid connection studies. Shabir is a registered Chartered Professional Engineer in Australia, Senior Member of IEEE, as well as a member of Engineers Australia, CIGRE, VDI and PMI.
