Biography
Victor Counted, Ph.D., is an associate professor of psychology and director of research and sponsored programs at Regent University, VA. He is also a faculty affiliate of the Human Flourishing Program at Harvard University. Dr. Counted has degrees in theology, social sciences, and holds a Ph.D. in Health Psychology from Western Sydney University and a second Ph.D. in the Psychology of Religion from The University of Groningen. His work examines the psychological processes (social, spiritual, environmental) that shape human flourishing across cultures. He has published over 60 peer-reviewed scientific articles and many book chapters converging around themes of health, well-being, spiritual care, attachment, religion/spirituality, and the significance of people-place relationships. His books include "The Roots of Radicalization" (2021, Lexington Book) and "Place and Post-Pandemic Flourishing" (2021, Springer Nature). He also edited "The Psychology of Religion and Place" (2019, Palgrave) and "Place, Spirituality, and Well-being" (2023, Springer Nature).
