Biography

As a paediatric oncologist, I am a clinical leader at the Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH) with specialist expertise in leukaemia, haematopoietic stem cell transplantation, and cellular and novel therapies. I have a strong facilitory role in encouraging and leading research in the clinical environment as the deputy director of the Clinical Trials Unit (CTU) within the Children’s Cancer Centre (CCC), Principal Investigator (PI) of international collaborative clinical trials for acute leukaemia as well as RCH representative member of the Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre (VCCC) ‘Accelerating novel therapies’ steering group and the national Zero Childhood Cancer (ZCC) and PRecISion Medicine for children with cancer (PRISM) ALL and AML working groups. I am a passionate clinician-scientist having completed a translational laboratory based PhD (2021) and, as a post-doctoral researcher, continue to integrate cutting-edge cancer research into clinical care to improve the outcomes for our patients by building on what is known about the biology of treatment failure and leading appropriate clinical trials.
