Personal information
Biography
I earned my Engineering degree in Computer Science in 2011 at the University of Vigo, and a MsC degree in Telematics Engineering in 2012. Since 2014 I am enrolled in a PhD Programme in Information and Communications Technology, also at the University of Vigo. The main research interests of my research group -Group of Telematics Systems Engineering GIST- are e-learning and e-health. On both fields, the group has a significant background and regularly participates in European and Spanish research projects.
Since 2009, I have been involved in R&D tasks related to the design and development of socio-health ICT applications. Specifically, I have around six years of experience in developing computer applications for the detection, treatment and care of different socio-health conditions.
Presently I am pursuing my PhD degree in the application of serious games and data analysis to neuropsychological assessment. In particular, I am developing a video game to assess episodic memory. The main objective of this research is to study the possibility that serious games can be used as a valid and reliable evaluation tool, in the same way as current neuropsychological tests, and eventually contribute to the early detection of mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and Alzheimer's disease (AD).
