Biography
Dr Sojin Lim is Reader/Professor in Asia Pacific Studies (with special reference to Korea) and Course Leader in MA North Korean Studies by Research. She works as Co-Director of the International Institute of Korean Studies (IKSU), and co-editor of Routledge Research on Korea series. She also serves as Editor-in-Chief of the Asia Pacific Viewpoint journal.
Prior to joining UCLan, Dr Lim worked for aid agencies, including Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and Export-Import Bank of Korea, as senior research fellow with hands-on field experiences. She also worked as external lecturer at the Graduate School of International and Area Studies of Hankuk University of Foreign Studies as well as the Graduate School of Public Policy of Sejong University. She also conducted various projects with international organisations, such as UN, ILO, OECD, WB and ADB. At UCLan, she successfully launched the very first Korea Corner in the UK and placed the Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK) Centre at UCLan.
