Biography

I am a clinical academic dental surgeon with a demonstrated experience and strong track record in the pursuit of all aspects of pedagogic, research, clinical, and management domains of my discipline. I graduated with a BDS degree in 2004 and obtained an MSc (Clin) in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in 2013 from the College of Dentistry, University of Mosul. I completed my PhD in oral tissue engineering at the University of Sheffield in 2018. I also acquired PG Diploma in digital learning design and management from the University of Rennes1 in 2021. I was awarded Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow (MFDS RCPS) and Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (MFDS RCS). The research interests include tissue engineering, 3D bioprinting, regenerative medicine, hard tissue surgery of the jaws, and dental education. My ongoing professional development focuses on effective management and leadership in the higher education and healthcare sector.
