Biography
Dr. Cheng Zhang was born in Wuxi, Jiangsu, China, in 1982. He is currently the Professor in the Institute of Electrical Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IEE CAS) and the post Professor in the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences.
Dr. Zhang received the B.Sc. degree and the M.Sc. degree in control theory and control engineering from the Nanjing University of Technology, Nanjing, China, in 2005 and 2008, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the Graduate University, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China, in 2011. Since 2011, he has been with the IEE CAS. From 2015 to 2016, he was a Visiting Scholar with the NonEquilibrium Thermodynamics Laboratory, Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Ohio State University, Columbus, OH, USA. His current research interests include gas discharge and nonthermal plasma applications. Dr. Zhang is IET Fellow, Senior Member of IEEE, members of the IEEE Nuclear and Plasma Sciences Society and the Dielectrics and Electrical Insulation Society of IEEE. He received the Excellent Young Scientists Fund of NSFC (2020), Mao Yi-sheng Beijing Youth Science and Technology Award (2020) and Royal Society Newton Advanced Fellowship (2019).
