Cellular signaling, Systems biology, Host-pathogen response

Biography

I am interested in unravelling molecular signalling in both patho and physiological events. Over the years, I have gathered experience using in vivo and in vitro research models together with molecular tools to study biological processes under homeostatic and perturbed states. Collaborating, learning, and implementing new techniques to reply to data-driven hypotheses has been a common feature throughout my career.

Mass spectrometry-based proteomics and data analytics play a key role in my research as powerful tools to better understand a biological event. Yet, I am also focused on applying more effective in vitro models to understand events associated with disease progression, cellular communication, and its microenvironment.

My scientific production reflects an effort to engage in multidisciplinary field and strengthen collaborative approach
I received my PhD in Medical Sciences from The University of São Paulo Medical School (2015), Master in Biological Sciences (Genetics) from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2010), a bachelor’s in biomedical sciences from the Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro (2007), in addition to a vocational degree in Biotechnology at the Federal Technical School of Chemistry in Rio de Janeiro (2001).
