Biography

Completed Medical School at the Universita' di Medicina in Florence, Italy in 1984. Then completed the Residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Universita' di Medicina in Florence, Italy in 1988. Worked at the University of Trieste, Italy at the Department of Gynecology and obstetrics first as an Instructor (1989-91) and then Assistant Professor (1991-92). Moved back to the Departments of Obstetrics and Gynecology as an Instructor at the Universita' di Medicina in Florence, Italy (1992-94). Moved to the United States working at Yale University in New Haven, CT as a visiting research fellow from 1994 till 1997.

Did a second Residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Illinois in Chicago from 1997-2001 and then a fellowship in Gynecology and Critical Care (2001-2002).

Worked as a Private attending at Gottlieb Hospital in Chicago, Illinois from 2003 till 2012, when joined Loyola University Medical Center, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Maywood, Illinois as an Assistant Professor (2012-2015). In 2015 worked at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology as an Assistant Professor (2015-2016), and as an Associate Professor from 2016 till 2020 where I was nominated Division Head of Gynecology, Head of the Generalist group in Ob/Gyn and Ob/Gyn Clerkship Director for the Medical Students.

Then continued as Associate Professor, when moved to the Southern Illinois University, Springfield, Illinois starting in July 2020 to present, as Division head of the Woman Health of the Correctional Division at Southern Illinois University .
