Biography

Oliviero Bruni received his M.D. in 1982 from the “ La Sapienza” University of Rome (Italy) where he also received the specialization in Child Neuropsychiatry in 1986. He is chief of the Pediatric Sleep Centre of the Department of Developmental Medicine and Psychiatry of the Sapienza University of Rome ( Italy ).
Oliviero Bruni is Full Professor in Child Neurology and Psychiatry in the Dept. of Developmental and Social Psychology, Sapienza University, Rome. He is founder and Past-President of the International Pediatric Sleep Association, Field Editor (Pediatrics) of the journal Sleep Medicine, past-member of the Board of Directors of the Italian Association of Sleep Medicine and was elected as Chair of the Childhood Sleep Disorders and Development Section of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM). He is member of the Education Committee (Pediatrics) of the European Sleep Research Society. He organized, acted as Faculty member and participated as invited lecturer in several International Congresses. He is currently involved in the Scientific Committees of the AASM; European Sleep Research Society and World Sleep Society. He has been involved in sleep research and clinical care in children for over 30 years and has published more than 250 peer-reviewed papers, in addition to books, several book chapters and abstracts.
