Biography

I am interested in understanding the resistance to Cucumber mosaic virus (CMV) in melon. This resistance is recessive and oligogenic and we have described at least three genes involved. We have cloned one of them (cmv1) and are fine-mapping the other two. We are also interested in the virus and are identifying the determinant(s) of virulence against the resistance genes and characterizing the resistance provided by cmv1 and the other QTLs to the different CMV strains. Finally, I am interested in using CRISPR/Cas technologies in crops, and particularly in melon to unveil the mechanisms of resistance/susceptibility to CMV.
