Biography

Our project is based on basic and translational research, to characterize new mediators and mechanisms involved in the process of carcinogenesis in digestive chronic diseases related to metabolic syndrome (MS), mostly pertaining to liver and pancreas. Based on our achievements, we will develop a 2 axes project 1) From inflammation to cancer and; 2) Tumor environment and aggressiveness by exploring the role of lipotoxicity, orexins and tumor micro-environment for providing original mechanistic and therapeutic targets. Our expertise in tissue sampling and in situ approaches will give us the opportunity to develop new translational approaches (from cells to patients) for improving tumor phenotyping and response to therapy.
