Biography
Dr. Megha Sahu has obtained her Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electronics and Telecommunication from Bhilai Institute of Technology, Durg, Chhattisgarh (CSVTU Bhilai), in 2012 and received her M.Tech. degree in Communication Systems from VNIT Nagpur, MH, IN, in 2015. She completed her doctor of philosophy from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT Bhilai) in 2022. She began her academic journey as an assistant professor at CCET Bhilia in December 2015. Thereafter she joined Bhilai Institute of Technology in July 2016 as an assistant professor in the ECE Department. In July 2017 she took the study leave from Bhilai Institute of Technology to pursue her PhD from IIT Bhilai and post-PhD fellowship opportunity under the SERB-funded project as a research associate. She rejoined Bhilai Institute of Technology and continued working there till June 2024. Currently she is a research assistant professor in the department of computational intelligence at the SRM Institute of Science & Technology (KTR Main Campus), Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
She qualified for the Graduate Aptitude Technical Exam (GATE) with a score of 715, 99.5 percentile, in 2013; she qualified again in 2016. She secured a state rank of 305 in the Chhattisgarh Pre-Engineering Test (CG PET) in 2008. She has received a domestic travel grant for attending IEEE COMSNETS 2019 and 2020. She received an MHRD fellowship from the government of India during her M.Tech and PhD. She served as a visiting researcher at the ABB Research and Innovation Centre in Bangalore, IN, and also completed a two-month internship during her PhD program. She was involved in standardization work with TSDSI, India, and a member of the SGSS group. She holds memberships in IEEE, IEEE ComSoc, and IETE, and actively serves as a reviewer for the esteemed IEEE Future Networks conference (2023, 2024). She also won the Best Poster Award at the 14th International Conference of IEEE COMSNETS in 2022.
Her research interest lies broadly in the fields of wireless communication and computer networks. Her proficiency extends to multi-access systems/protocols, traffic engineering, network coding, mobility management, optimization and reinforcement learning techniques, stochastic processes, queuing theory concepts, systems architecture/design/model, telehealth, use case analysis (worked with smart ambulance), real-world network implementation, test cases, and product-level implementation. She has published some of her research works in reputed international journals and conferences (SCI/SCIE indexed), including Springer, IETE, Taylor & Francis, IEEE, etc. She has contributed multiple book chapters and attended workshops on cutting-edge technologies to explore newer ideas in her research fields.
