Biography

Dr. Jang's research focuses on elucidating the mechanism of health system innovation and the dynamics of struggles among stakeholders as agents. His research topic has expanded toward the interface of health and social systems during the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly risk perception and decision-making in the crisis. He also studies the distribution of health professionals because of the risk of a disproportional shortage in the region and specialty. The care burden of chronic disease and disabilities are also critical risk factors for public health; therefore, he also studies the risk of care burden.

He is a clinical associate professor in the Department of Health Policy and Management at Seoul National University College of Medicine and the Department of Public Health and Community Medicine at Seoul Metropolitan Government—Seoul National University Boramae Medical Center.

He holds a Bachelor's degree in Medicine from the Kyunghee University School of Medicine (2004) and an M.P.H. from Chungnam National University School of Public Health (2007), and a Ph.D. in Medicine from Seoul National University College of Medicine (2011).
