Biography

Fernando Meneses is a Research Fellow in Quantum Sensing within the School of Physics at the University of Melbourne. He obtained his PhD in physics from National University of Córdoba (Argentina) in 2015, working on nanofabrication and characterisation of magnetic materials.

In 2020 he started working at the Meriles group at the City College of New York, where he focused on quantum sensing using spin defects in diamond and also on the developing of machine learning techniques for experimental applications. Currently, he continues working in similar projects and also exploring new sensing platforms such as van der Waals materials.
