Biography

Francesco Centurelli was born in Rome in 1971. He received the laurea degree (cum laude) and the Ph.D. degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Roma La Sapienza, Rome, Italy, in 1995 and 2000 respectively.
From 2000 to 2006 he worked under research contracts with the Electronic Engineering Department of the University of Roma La Sapienza, and since November 2006 he has been a full time Researcher for the same Department. From 2002 he is in charge of teaching electronic engineering at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Roma La Sapienza (Roma and Latina sites).

His research activity has initially regarded the analysis and design of clock recovery circuits and high-speed analog integrated circuits, with particular emphasis on gigabit-rate optical communication systems. He has also investigated modeling of active III-V devices and yield-oriented design methodologies. His current research interests include the design of analog-to-digital converters, and design methodologies for low-voltage and low-power circuits for analog and RF applications. He has been also involved in R&D activities held in collaboration between Università La Sapienza and some national and international industrial partners (Italtel, STMicroelectronics, Philips, Ericsson, Rheinmetal, Elettronica S.p.A., Thales-Alenia, Space Engineering), gaining a strong design expertise in CMOS, SiGe BiCMOS and GaAs HEMT technologies.
