Biography

Elena Theodorou is an Assistant Professor of Speech Pathology in the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences at the Cyprus University of Technology and a speech therapy program coordinator. She is also the founder and scientific coordinator of the research laboratory EPI.LO.Go. Her research focuses on the diagnosis of language disorders, language acquisition in both typical and atypical populations, language sample analysis, and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC). Additionally, she conducts research on voice disorders.

Her work has been widely presented at national and international conferences and published in esteemed scientific journals.

With 15 years of clinical experience as a Speech Pathologist in government settings, Dr Theodorou brings a rich practical background to her academic and research endeavours.

Since 2019, she has been an active member of the Child Language Committee (CLC) of the International Association of Communication Sciences and Disorders (IALP). She served as Chair of the Cyprus Registration Council of Speech-Language Pathologists from 2021 to 2023 and currently chairs the Special Committee for the Recognition of Continuing Professional Education for Speech Therapists in Cyprus.
