Biography

Since July 2023, I have embraced a new and exciting challenge as a postdoctoral fellow in neuroimmunology.
After a decade of establishing a strong foundation in physiological sciences with a focus on sex-based differences in the neuronal control of breathing, I shifted my focus to studying the connections between neuroendocrinology and neuroimmunology with a specific interest in sex-based neuroglial responses to respiratory infections. This is a natural progression of my previous work and positions me to explore a unique niche in the context of neuroimmune responses to respiratory diseases.

My passion for people and my dedication to knowledge and scientific research were born out of my desire to be a catalyst for impactful change in the field of biomedicine.

With a detail-oriented and process-driven approach to scientific inquiry and technical analysis, I had the opportunity to lead several research initiatives at prestigious universities in Brazil and Canada, as well as participate in international seminars, conferences, presentations, and symposiums, building strong collaborative relationships with other scientific and healthcare professionals in the process.

My academic background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Science and Biotechnology, as well as a Doctorate in Physiological Sciences from the São Paulo State University (UNESP) in Brazil and I am currently pursuing my postdoctoral studies at Université Laval, Faculty of Medicine in Québec, Canada.

My goal is to continue serving the scientific community through critical research and pursuing opportunities to further study and accelerate the pace of advancements in healthcare and biomedicine
