Biography
Dr. Maria Theodoratou completed her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, followed by a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology and Psychopathology from the University of Aix-Marseille I, France, and later achieved her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Athens. Her educational foundation has been pivotal to her teaching career which began in 1994, where she has been teaching in various higher education institutions with a focus on clinical psychology and psychopathology. She has worked as a psychologist in private practice for several years. Since 2017 she has been teaching at Hellenic Open University, Greece and Neapolis University of Pafos, Cyprus. In addition to her primary focus areas, she is actively involved in neuropsychological research, integrating neuropsychological concepts and findings into her therapeutic approaches. This includes examining the interplay between neurological processes and psychological well-being and applying these insights to develop more effective, evidence-based treatments. Her scientific interests extend to exploring the emotional and cognitive processes in mental health and utilizing new technological and methodological advances in therapeutic settings. Her dedication to combining clinical research with practical application aims to enhance the quality and accessibility of psychological care, as evidenced by her ongoing academic research, publications, and participation in various psychology conferences and seminars.
