Biography

As a researcher, my work is related to the preparation of nanoparticles, polymers, nanocomposites, their, characterization, and application in water treatment. I am also interested in the green fabrication of the said materials. Specific properties that are looked for include the nanocomposite membranes with hydrophilic, low-fouling, high flux, solute rejection (salt, organic and inorganic pollutants), pH-responsive, and degradative properties towards the removal of persistent/emerging organic pollutants in water.

My interests are in smart polymeric water filtration membranes, membrane development, and the inclusion of nanothechnology therein. These keen interests were informed by previous experience in the paint, food, and minerals industries - which all have an impact on water availability, quality, and sustainability.
