Biography
Haitham Nobanee is a professor of finance working at Abu Dhabi University, UAE. An honorary professor at the University of Liverpool, U.K., and a visiting research professor at the University of Oxford, U.K. He received his doctorate from the University of Manchester. He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and a Fellow of the Learning and Performance Institute (LPI). He has significant academic and professional experience. He believes in multidisciplinarity, interdisciplinarity, and transdisciplinarity research. He has published many research papers that link finance and IT with other disciplines. He has published many publications in top-tier refereed journals that focus on global issues. He is significantly participating in leadership activities in research on global issues by serving the academic community as an editor, associate editor, guest editor, and member of the editorial board of various international refereed journals. He is also a reviewer for many international journals. He has presented papers and served in several international conferences as conference chair, keynote speaker, honor guest, editor of conference proceedings, track chair, member of scientific committees, reviewer, and discussant of conference papers. He is disseminating his research in international outlets; therefore, allowing his research to impact global society. His research interests include digital finance; fintech, welathtech, insurtech, non-fungible tokens, cryptocurrencies, anti-financial crime; Islamic Banking & finance; sustainable banking & finance; energy & carbon finance; entrepreneurial finance; energy economics; environmental economics; sustainability and accounting; risk management, market microstructure; climate change economics finance & banking; and working capital management.
