Biography

GALYMZHAN NAURYZBAYEV was born in Akshatau, Karagandy Province, Kazakhstan, in May 1987. He received the B.Sc. (Hons.) and M.Sc. (Hons.) degrees in Radio Engineering, Electronics, and Telecommunications from the Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunication, Almaty, Kazakhstan, in 2009 and 2011, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in Wireless Communications from the University of Manchester, United Kingdom, in 2016. From 2016 to 2018, he held several academic and research positions at Nazarbayev University (Kazakhstan) and L. N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University (Kazakhstan). In 2019, he joined Nazarbayev University as an Assistant Professor.

His research interests lie in the area of wireless communication systems, with a particular focus on reconfigurable intelligent surface-enabled communication systems, cognitive radio, communication theory, energy harvesting, visible light communications, NOMA, interference mitigation, etc. He served as a Technical Program Committee Member on numerous IEEE flagship conferences.
