Biography
As a hydrologist, I believe there are more than a million things to do before we can call ourselves successful at tapping the enormous potential of water. It is a life-saver as well as life-taker. I wish the posterity learn to respect this resource better than we do. To study water, to teach water, and to be a softer, more flexible but tougher fellow human being. That will be precisely the goal of my life.
VISION
(1) Enhancing regional representation and knowledge sharing through zone-specific Indian Water Resource Models.
(2) Work towards establishing guidelines and standards that promote the integration of sustainability in Hydrology and Water Quality Engineering Practices.
(3) Encourage the development of region-specific best practices that reflects India's diverse water conditions and engineering challenges, from urban to rural settings.
Dr. Abhijeet Das received a Bachelor in Technology (B-Tech) in civil engineering from Biju Patnaik University of Technology, Rourkela, Odisha; and a Master in Technology (M-Tech) in water resources engineering from Biju Patnaik University of Technology, Rourkela, Odisha. He earned his Doctorate in Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree from the Department of Civil Engineering at the C.V. Raman Global University (CGU), Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India, with research focused on Water Resources Engineering, Water Supply and Management, Industrial Waste Management, Programming Language- R Cran, MATLAB, SPSS, and EPANET. He has worked as a Project Associate in the domain of Water Resource and Irrigation Engineering at Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India. His research interests focus on watershed management, hydrological forecasting, hydrologic modeling, and developing sustainable means of managing the environment. He has published international journals and a few book chapters and attended around 125 international conferences. He also published a few Indian patents. He also authored two books and was a recipient of a few Best Paper Awards. He is recognized for his expertise in combining optimization and self-organizing maps with experimental and computational approaches in water management.
CALL FOR PAPERS (Collaborative)
Special Topic on “Surface water Quality: Addressing the Challenges of Traditional and Emerging Subsurface Contaminants”
Goal: To emphasize on the extent of machine learning, which provides premier interdisciplinary platform for presentation of new advances and research results in the field of Civil engineering (mainly Water Resource Engineering). Recently, there has been explosion in the research in the field of software engineering due of availability of huge data in the repositories to explore various research related possibilities like the process of developing predictive models, such as defect prediction and change prediction, developer social network analysis, source code analysis, etc. This session will bring together leading academic scientists, experts, researchers, scholars in the domain of interest from around the world.
Topics of Interest: We invite original (un-published) research contributions based on the theme including following topics but not limited to:
• Drinking water, wastewater and stormwater treatment technologies and strategies
• Harnessing Artificial Intelligence and Big Data for Urban Water Solutions
• Assessing Urban Impact and Dynamics
• Impacts and solutions of diffuse pollution (urban and agricultural run-off) on water quality
• Industrial water quality
• Used water: Reuse and resource recovery
• Groundwater quality (management, remediation, fracking, legacy contaminants)
• Assessment of surface and subsurface water quality
• Regulations, economics, strategies, and policies related to water quality
• Digital Transformation in Urban Water Management: Tools, Models, and Decision Support Systems
• Stakeholder Integration in Water Infrastructure Projects
• Emerging threats in Water Safety: Antibiotic Resistance Transmission Dynamics Among Bacteria in Water
Authors are encouraged via Email: das.abhijeetlaltu1999@gmail.com, to submit a 1-page extended abstract, including full contact details of the corresponding author (name, affiliation, email, and Tel/Fax number). It will be reviewed as per the abstracts, and acceptance notifications will be intimated on the specified Email ID.
Submitted papers should not have been previously published nor be currently under consideration for publication elsewhere. All submissions will be thoroughly peer reviewed by experts (at least 3 reviewers) based on originality, significance, and clarity.
