Biography

Dr. Somnath Mahato received Bachelor of Technology (Electronics and Communication Engineering) from Meghnad Saha Institute of Technology, West Bengal University of Technology, Kolkata, in 2012, and Master of Technology (Electronics and Communication Engineering) from The University of Burdwan, Burdwan, in 2014. He has received Ph.D. degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from National Institute of Technology Sikkim, India in 2023. He is presently, working as a Project Scientist III at India Meteorological Department (IMD), Govt. of India. He is the recipient of the SAIARD Junior Scientist award (2020) and URSI-RCRS Young Scientist Award (2020). He has received Best Paper Presentation awards from Centre for Environment and Economic Development (2018), Geospatial Conclave (2020) and Springer Best Paper Award (2022). He is a senior member of URSI, Member of InRASS, Associate member of The Institution of Electronics and Telecommunications Engineers (IETE), and Associate member of Institution of Engineers (India).
