Biography

Cristian Edel Weiss is currently a Ph.D. student in Political Science at the University of Mannheim, Germany, and holds a Master's degree (M.Sc.) in Media, Technology and Society from the Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences, Germany. His research interests include quantitative and qualitative methods for digital humanities, natural language processing, watchdog journalism, social accountability, freedom of information laws, transparency, open government, media and power. As a journalist, he has worked for large media outlets in Brazil and for Deutsche Welle in Germany. He has a specialization in Data Journalism from the Deutsche Welle Akademie.
