Julian is an experimental research physicist who completed his Masters in Radiation Physics at London University while working at St Bartholomew's hospital. He then worked at Westminster and University College Hospitals in radiation safety, monitoring and quality control in nuclear medicine and radiological imaging systems within the NHS.
He became a visiting lecturer at UCL in radiation safety and radionuclide applications for post docs and researchers. His monograph 'RPL Dosimetry: Radiophotoluminescence in Health Physics' was published by the Institute of Physics for their Medical Science Series.
He was a Science tutor for the majority of his career and later trained at Sussex University, obtaining his PGCE, to become a state secondary science teacher.
He is now exploring systems that purport to be thermodynamically open and in the context of renewable energy and harvesting.
