Biography

Michael Vallance Ed.D. is a researcher in the Department of Media Architecture, Future University Hakodate, Japan. He has been involved in educational technology design, implementation, research and consultancy for over 25 years, working closely with Higher Education Institutes, schools and media companies in UK, Singapore, Malaysia and Japan.
He has experience and expertise in design thinking, disruptive digital implementations, transformative pedagogies, and futures communication in multiple disciplines. He is the Principal Investigator on a number of research projects involving virtual reality, robotics, physiological data and mobile devices, emphasizing the essentiality of an inter-disciplinary education.
He was awarded the second prize in the Distributed Learning category at the United States Army's 2012 Federal Virtual Worlds Challenge for his research in virtual collaboration.
