Biography

Jorge Ares Garcia is a Doctor of Sciences from UZ in 2011, a Bachelor of Physics (1997, optoelectronics) and a Diploma and Degree in Optics and Optometry (GOO) in 2002 and 2016 respectively. He is currently a Full Professor at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Zaragoza (Department of Applied Physics, Optics area). His pre-doctoral stage was from 1997 to 2004 between USC (Santiago de Compostela), IOTA (Paris) and IRCOM (Limoges) conducting R&D in Hartmann Shack sensors, generation of ultra-short pulses, spatial phase modulators, and refractive compensation of presbyopia. He joined the UZ at the time of the implementation of the Diploma in Optics and Optometry in 2005 as an Assistant Professor in the department of applied physics. Currently, Jorge Ares is the head of the department of applied physics.
