Biography
Angélica Monteiro is PhD in Education Sciences and Master in Multimedia Education (UPORTO University). She is Auxiliary Teacher at FPCEUP and full researcher at CIIE. She had the project "(DICEs) DIGITAL CITIZENSHIP EDUCATION FROM INSIDE OUT SCHOOLS: FOCUSING MINORITY YOUTH HABITS, RIGHTS AND SPECIFICITIES REGARDING BEING ONLINE" approved for funding by the Stimulus of Scientific Employment, Individual Support by FCT, Portugal (2020.01982.CEECIND) starting on May, 1st 2020 and ending on May, 1st 2024. She has several publications focused on e-learning, b-learning, education science, teacher's training, technology and education, with special focus on digital inclusion of people in vulnerable situation, several of them indexed in international databases such as Scopus and JCR. Her higher education activity (since 2002) combines teaching, researching and management. She supervised 5 Doctoral theses (2 concluded), 18 Master degree students (concluded) and 2 Post-doctoral study (concluded). She was head of a Higher Education School from Oct 2017 to Dec 2018. Presently, she co-represents the strategic area "Empowerment and inclusion through education and digital arts" of the Centre for Research and Intervention in Education (CIIE) of the Faculty of Psychology and Education Sciences (FPCEUP). She concluded 2 post-doctoral studies. The first one related to Digital Literacy in Portuguese basic education (2013-2014), the second one related to e-learning and digital literacy with women in vulnerable situations (2014 - 2017). She engaged in the evaluation of a program of school-university partnerships promoted by the municipality of Porto to foster scientific literacy. She is also, since 2020, member of the school's external valuation committee from IGEC - General Inspection of Education and Science of the Portuguese Ministry of Education, as education specialist. In the last 5 years, she participated as researcher on 9 funded projects (5 international and 4 national). She was the principal investigator of the project Mind the Gaps (2019-2-PT02-KA205-006226); and lead the CIIE team in the project UP2B - 2019-1-PT01-KA201-061346).
