Biography
Dr Hodgson was one of the pioneers in promoting and supporting e-Learning in the Hong Kong. Competent in consulting with teaching academics, she has established excellent tracked records in supporting faculty from disciplines in the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) for seven years. Then, she worked in University of Auckland in New Zealand. She has established good rapport with teaching academics that she worked with and also provided excellent mentorship in the Women in Leadership, a university-wide mentoring programme. Rejoining PolyU in 2006-8, she continues her interest in supporting academic to embrace technologies for learning and teaching focusing on blended learning. Spending 3 years teaching in Faculty of Education in University of Hong Kong, she tried a blended approach to engage undergraduate students with Blackboard and Web2.0 applications. Then she worked in City University of Hong Kong to advocate a discovering approach for engaging learning and research in the university. Moving on to work at Hong Kong Baptist University focusing on programme assessment. Since 2015, she has been working in Centre for Learning Enhancement And Research in the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). Her current research interest is learning experiences through MOOCs, emerging technologies like VR, ubiquitous learning while continuing research the international impacts in higher education in Hong Kong. After formally retirement from CUHK, she continues to contributing support to academics in University of Wollongong College Hong Kong. Her research interest extends to explore student online learning readiness in both synchronous and asynchronous mode of blended learning during and after Covid-19 pandemic in tertiary education in Hong Kong.
