Biography
Peter Higgs has a BSW and has worked with marginalised populations in Melbourne, Sydney, Vietnam, Indonesia and China since the mid 1990s. Peter completed an MA in Asian and International Studies at Victoria University and a PhD (Monash University) on risk and ethnic Vietnamese heroin users. His field based research has been focused on risk and people who inject drugs. He holds appointments at La Trobe University, Monash University and the University of Technology Sydney. He is currently a Burnet Institute Principal Research Fellow. His current research is focused on working with cohorts of people who inject drugs in Melbourne.
