Biography
Dirk Saller, alumnus of Uni Heidelberg and Mannheim, studied physics in Heidelberg and Pisa and made his PhD project (summa cum laude) in Mannheim and Florence in the field of mathematical physics.
Since 2005 he is Full Professor for Applied Computer Science at the Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University (DHBW, former Berufsakademie) and, since 2019, member of the central supervisory board of DHBW. Between 2020 and 2024, he was also member of the advisory board of the German Football-Club TSG Hoffenheim. His actual research and transfer focus is on data mining in the field of production process as well as artificial intelligence applied to educational science. Additionally, he was working on mathematical physics.
In the past, he was member of the central senate of DHBW from 2010 to 2019. He had the position of Rector of DHBW at the location in Mosbach from 2011-2014, was Head and Dean of the central Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science of DHBW from 2010-2014. He has been Vice Rector of the DHBW at the location in Mannheim and Dean of the local Engineering and Computer Science faculty from 2006-2011.
Since 2007 he is or has been member of several committees in Germany in the field of economy and higher education, In particular, in 2013 he was member of an expert group of the German Scientific Council concerning the Dual System in Higher Education. Between 2007-2017 he was head of the advisory board of the Training and Testing Institute of Welding (SLV) in Mannheim. He was also a member of the regional advisory board of VDI (German Engineering Society) in Mannheim between 2006-2013.
Dirk Saller is supporting global technology enterprises in the field of Knowledge and Innovation Management having a many-year-experience in different branches.
