Biography

Born in Salerno in 1973. Master's degree cum laude in computer Science at the University of Salerno in 1996. PhD in Information Engineering at the University of Salerno in 2011.

Researcher in Experimental Pedagogy (M-PED / 04) at DISUFF, Department of Human, Philosophical and Education Sciences of the University of Salerno.
Teacher of: Evaluation of e-Learning, Media Education, Computer science laboratory for education.
Collaboration in the application of innovative methodologies and technologies in teaching and learning in the following international projects:

Invited Lecturer in 2008 at Université Paris Ouest Nanterre La Défense, France: Studies, analyzes and comparisons on technologies and methodologies for e-learning and knowledge management.

From 1995 to 2014, responsibilities for the University of Salerno, the CRMPA Consortium and the spin-off MOMA S.p.A., for national and international research projects. The CRMPA was first in the IPPA (Integrated Program Portfolio Analysis) ranking of the EU in 2005 and 2010 as part of the VI and VII IST programs of the VI Framework Program. The most relevant projects are: SIRET (PON-2011), eLLLe (POR CAMPANIA 2007-2013), e-learning (POR Campania 2000-2006), m-Learning (FP5), eLEGI (FP6), ARISTOTELE (FP), ALICE (FP7).

He was in service at the University of Salerno as a technical-scientific officer from 2000 to 2019 holding the role of head of the "Relational Database" Laboratory and of the Semantic Technologies, Advanced Learning and Knowledge Management.

He has taught, as contract lecturer until 2019, "Computer and telematic skills for education", "Computer science laboratory for education", "Advanced computer skills laboratory for education" for various three-year degree courses and master's degree at the University of Salerno.

In the academic year 1998-99, he taught "Mathematics 1" as an adjunct professor at the University of Salerno.
In 1999 he won two research grants with the titles "Artificial Intelligence" and "Multimedia systems and 3D graphics" at the University of Salerno.
He has been a lecturer in postgraduate training courses, professional training and refresher courses, masters and IFTS in various subjects related to technologies for learning, artificial intelligence, information technology and robotics.

From 2005 to 2008, he was production director of MOMA S.p.A., with which he won the Best Practices Innovation award of Confindustria Salerno with the IWT Educational Scuola project. For MOMA he has developed several software platforms including IWT, Intelligent Web Teacher.

From 2008 to 2009, he was Collaborator of the Engineering Department of the University of Sannio (Benevento) for research activities in User profiling and Knowledge Management.

The research activity carried out and in progress essentially concerns methodologies and technologies for e-learning and artificial intelligence. As part of these issues, the activities were aimed at the study and definition of models based on ontologies for user profiling, for the management of skills and for the representation of knowledge.
Over the years, he has gained experience in experimenting with technologies as well as in the analysis, design and implementation of solutions for distance learning, for the management and representation of knowledge, developing software in programming environments based on languages C / C ++, Java, JavaScript, Visual Basic, PHP.
In addition, he has experience in the development of integrations of the Microsoft Office environment, in the customization and integration of e-learning platforms based on Moodle and in the development of Google Apps, or applications of the Google cloud.
He is the author of over 90 publications on various topics related to e-learning technologies.
