Biography
I am a particle physicist with a solid background in gaseous detector development and operation. My career is mainly focused on the upgrade of the Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) experiment at CERN and in particular on the upgrade of the muon system with Gas Electron Multipliers detectors. This upgrade project is fundamental to maintain excellent performance in view of the next phases of operation of LHC, in which CMS aims at improving the precision on the Higgs boson studies and continue the research for new physics. In this context, in the last seven years I participated to and had a leading role in the R&D of this new technology and in its implementation in the CMS experiment. I covered many scientific roles of increasing responsibility and I am currently serving as CMS GEM Deputy Run Coordinator.
In parallel, I also worked on the development of new generation of Micropattern Gaseous Detectors with improved timing capabilities and I recently joined the efforts of the group studying and designing the detectors for future experiments at a muon collider.
