Biography
Prof. dr. Sabina Vidulin, PhD was born in Pula, Croatia, in 1971. She attended compulsory and secondary school (high school/gymnasium and also music high school) in Pula. She graduated (MA) at the University of Education in Pula (Department of Music Culture). She has a master's degree in Music pedagogy (M. Sc.), a doctoral degree in education (PH.D.), and a degree in teacher mentor and teacher adviser for music education. Promoting pedagogical practice and theory she received the prestigious state reward Ivan Filipović.
From 1995 till 2008 she was employed as a teacher of music in the compulsory school in Rovinj. She taught music from 4th to 8th grade, led a children choir, music composing, music and drama playing, playing synthesizer and she established the singing school festival. For ten years she was holding a students' practice in schools, demonstrated the modern way of teaching music in school. She was a leader and supervisor for music teachers.
In 1997 she has also started working at the Department of Music in Pula (today Academy of Music in Pula), first as a subcontractor and then in 2006 on fulltime work. She leads the courses: Music Pedagogy, Didactics of Music and Musical Practice in school.
Sabina Vidulin held over hundred lectures, presentations and workshops at professional and scientific conferences and symposiums in Croatia and abroad (Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Hercegovina, Czech Republic, Cyprus, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Kosovo, Latvia, Lithuania, Monte Negro, Netherlands, Poland, Serbia, Slovenia, Sweden and in the USA), did research work in music-educational field. She published a songbook, five books (about extracurricular activities, musical activities, didactical aspects in teaching music, about musical creativity and about cognitive-emotional listening to music), 17 chapters in the books, over 80 scientific articles, several supplements in daily papers and school papers and four CDs with children's songs. She reviewed music textbooks, books, scientific papers, music programs and a hand-book for music and PC.
Vidulin is the founder and president of the scientific committees of the First, Second, Third, Fifth, Sixth and Seventh International Symposium of Music Pedagogues in Pula (Croatia) as well as the founder of the International Forum of Students’ of Music Pedagogy. She is the editor-in-chief of four collected papers titled Music Pedagogy in the Context of Present and Future Changes 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 8 (indexed in RILM and EBSCO), the 3 Students' Proceedings. Vidulin is the editorial member in seven, mostly international scientific journals (Italy, Cyprus, Slovenia, Bosnia and Hercegovina, Serbia) and a member of the editorial board of the series European Perspectives on Music Education. From 2010 to 2020 she was the EAS national coordinator for Croatia.
