EMBL is Europe’s flagship laboratory for the life sciences. Established in 1974 as an intergovernmental organisation, EMBL is supported by over 20 member states.
EMBL performs fundamental research in molecular biology, studying the story of life. The institute offers services to the scientific community; trains the next generation of scientists and strives to integrate the life sciences across Europe.
EMBL is international, innovative and interdisciplinary. Its more than 1600 staff, from over 80 countries, operate across five sites in Grenoble (France), Hamburg (Germany), Heidelberg (Germany), Hinxton (UK) and Monterotondo (Italy). EMBL scientists work in independent groups and conduct research and offer services in all areas of molecular biology.
EMBL research drives the development of new technology and methods in the life sciences. The institute works to transfer this knowledge for the benefit of society.

Integrations
EMPIAR Integration Complete
EMPIAR integrates ORCID into the deposition system. It is now possible to sign in using an ORCID iD. This would automatically populate user profile fields such us ORCID iD, first name, last name and email. Users can also automatically populate the deposition information fields using ORCID sign in with the THOR project integration in EMPIAR.

Reactome Complete
Reactome is a free, open-source, curated and peer-reviewed pathway database. Our goal is to provide intuitive bioinformatics tools for the visualization, interpretation and analysis of pathway knowledge to support basic research, genome analysis, modeling, systems biology and education. The integration authenticates and displays iDs. Researchers can also claim their works and push them to their ORCID records.
Europe PubMed Central (PMC) Complete
Europe PubMed Central (PMC) is a unique, free, information resource for biomedical and health researchers. Europe PMC contains 28 million+ abstracts and 2.6 million+ full text research articles. This includes PubMed and PubMed Central content, as well as other sources. The Europe PMC service is managed and developed by EBI in collaboration with the British Library and the University of Manchester. Europe PMC is supported by 20 funders of life sciences and biomedical research, including government organisations across Europe, led by the Wellcome Trust.A new Europe PMC tool has been developed to allow authors to select and export their articles to ORCID, creating or enhancing their bibliographies. The tool follows a simple three-step process to select publications, review and then export them to ORCID.
