Biography

Md. Rakibul Islam is currently doing his Ph.D. as a Doctoral Fellow in the Department of Civil, Environmental, And Construction Engineering at the University of Central Florida, Florida, USA under the supervision of Dr. Mohamed Abdel-Aty, the leading Professor of Transportation Safety . Earlier he was employed as "Assistant Professor" in Transportation Engineering Division in the Department of Civil Engineering at Dhaka University of Engineering and Technology (DUET), Gazipur, Bangladesh since October 2018. He received his M.Sc. in Transportation Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in June, 2018. Immediately after the graduation from Department of Civil Engineering, Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) back in March, 2016, he started his career as a “Lecturer” in the Department of Civil Engineering at Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology, Dhaka. Later, in August 2016, He joined as a “Lecturer” in the Department of Civil Engineering at Dhaka University of Engineering & Technology (DUET), Gazipur. Mr. Islam has research and professional track record on ITS, Traffic Safety, Public Transport, Traffic Flow Theory, Transport Modelling, Evacuation Modelling and Emergency Route Planning, Image Processing, Operational Transportation Planning and Sustainable Urban Development. He is also affiliated with various professional organizations and has demonstrated leadership and management skills in professional and volunteer organizations and activities.
