Biography
I wrote my doctoral thesis on how we determine the value of anything. Why certain things in our society are more valuable than others? What are the underlying principles of valuation? In order to answer these questions, I studied land expropriation cases in India. This doctoral project was guided by Prof. Benjamin Davy, TU Dortmund University and Dr. Thomas Hartmann, Wageningen University & Research. I have officially submitted my doctoral thesis on 1st Oct 2018 and defended my thesis on 15th of January 2019. I have published my dissertation as a book titled "Land Acquisition and Compensation in India: Mysteries of Valuation" (2020) with Palgrave Macmillan.
In past 10 years, I have worked and studied in Santiniketan (India), Bali (Indonesia), Anand (India), Oslo (Norway), Bangalore (India) and Dortmund (Germany). Along with it, I have presented my research in Hong Kong (twice), Oslo (Norway), Bangalore (India), Geneva (Switzerland), and Washington D.C. With all these experience of working (including empirical data collection in India and Indonesia) and living in different cultures and societies, I have come to believe in a universal human endowment.
I am an independent researcher, but a good team always inspire me to work harder and think sharper.
