Biography
Dr. Rakesh Patel is currently working as Professor and Head of Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Technology department at Shree S. K. Patel College of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, Ganpat University, Gujarat, India. His current research interests are formulation and development of novel and conventional pharmaceutical products, dissolution enhancement techniques, drug delivery, regulatory affairs, and industrial pharmaceutical manufacturing. He has completed several industrial research and consultancy projects related to formulation development, method development and regulatory affairs. He has received various AICTE grant like Career Award for Young Teachers (CAYT) (INR 10,50,000/--), MODROBS (INR 11,50,000/--), Two Research Promotion Schemes (RPS) (INR 19,00,000/-- and INR 18,00,000/--), Five Faculty development programe (INR 20,00,000/--), Seminar grant (INR 75,000/--), GUJCOST sponsored Minor Research Project (INR 4,50,000/--) and Seminar (INR 40,000/--). He has guided 6 PhD and 42 postgraduate students and currently 5 PhD students are working under his guidance. He has more than 110 research publications and 40 presentations in international and national journals and conferences, respectively & filled 8 patents. He is working as an advisory editorial committee member of several international journals like Dissolution technologies, Drug Discovery and Therapeutics and Pharmaceutical Manufacturing, USA. He is associated with various international and national journals as reviewer like International journal of Pharmaceutics, Drug Development and Industrial Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Development and Technology, Indian Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, etc. He had worked as a council member of Indian Pharmaceutical Association, Mehsana branch for year 2008-10 and life member of Indian Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India, Indian Society of Technical Education, Indian Pharmaceutical Association. His contributions have been accepted for publication in International Biographic Centre, Cambridge and Marquis Who's Who in the World.
