Biography

Disciplined and enthusiastic Masters of Genetic Counseling student at the Virginia Commonwealth University as well as a volunteer biocurator for the Myeloid Malignancy Variant Curation Expert Panel (MM-VCEP) with ClinGen.

Previous research expertise gained through a post-baccalaureate fellowship in the Clinical Genetics Branch at the NCI. Research focused on inherited predisposition to hematological malignancies by incorporating genomics with epidemiology to understand their causes. Published work investigated the prevalence of pathogenic germline variation and penetrance of disease in myeloid malignancy predisposition genes in the general population.

Strong academic background with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Data Science from Davidson College. Research focused on lung cell inflammatory response by tobacco smoke and education on alternative tobacco products to children and adolescents, all while balancing the responsibilities as a NCAA Division I athlete.
