Stefan Denda is a Research Associate at the Social Geography Department of the Geographical Institute ''Jovan Cvijić'', Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts (SASA) in Belgrade (Republic of Serbia). He is also currently affiliated with Kaufman Lab for the Study and Design of Food Systems and Marketplaces at the University of Wisconsin-Madison (Farm 2 Facts Program). He completed all levels of studies at the University of Belgrade – Faculty of Geography. He received his doctorate (thesis: "The Influence of Tourism on Population Attitudes to the Life Quality in the Zlatibor Area") in the field of geosciences in September 2022. As a social geographer, the main research focus is on the areas of tourism and political geography, as well as research on the quality of life in the tourism areas. In his work so far, he has published dozens of scientific papers with an accent on the concept of sustainable tourism, tourism valorization, and competitiveness of tourist destinations. The multidisciplinarity of the work is reflected in the results from other areas of geosciences (medical geography, political geography, historical geography, etc.). He participated in numerous national and international scientific meetings. Also, he was the editor / technical editor of several national monographic editions. He has reviewed papers for several journals indexed in Web of Science and Scopus.
