Biography
José Verdú-Díaz is a Research Assistant and PhD student at the John Walton Muscular Dystrophy Research Centre at Newcastle University, focusing on Neuromuscular Disorders (NMDs). He earned a Networks Engineering degree from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (Barcelona, Spain) while collaborating with the Sant Pau Hospital (Barcelona, Spain). His research interests include the development of artificial intelligence strategies for the analysis of clinical and imaging data, with a focus on diagnosis and MRI data. His main project, Myo-Guide, consists of a web platform for the automatic identification of diagnostic patterns on muscle MRI with AI. The web platform, with over 100 registered users, helps clinicians and researchers accelerate the diagnosis process of NMDs. José maintains an active presence in the research community, contributing to various projects (such as the Adult SMA Reach and CoMPaSS-NMD), publications and other scientific events.
