Biography
Tarik Ghodbani is Professor of Geography at the University of Oran 2 Mohammed Ben Ahmed-Algeria. He defended his thesis at University of Paris 8 in 2009 under the title “Littoralization and environment of western Algeria”. He participated in several post-doc mobility programs such as Fulbright (Georgia University-USA), Chevening (Oxford Center for Ismalic Stadies-UK), DAAD (Erlangen University-Germany). Since 2016, he has been directing the Geography and Territorial Development Research Laboratory (EGEAT) and supervising six doctoral theses on the issue of human/environment relations, climate change and land planning. Actualy he is a member of: the reading committee of the journal Cahiers Géographiques de l'Ouest, the scientific council of the Faculty of Earth and Universe Sciences at the University of Oran 2. T Ghodbani has piloted several research projects with socio-economic impact on the governance of natural resources in arid and semi-arid regions, in collaboration with the Center for Research in Social and Cultural Anthropology (CRASC), the Directorate General for Scientific Research and Development Technology (DGRSDT), and the Arab Council for Social Sciences (ACSS). He has published several articles in international journals and book chapters on development issues in the Maghreb and MENA region. Other works on the question of vulnerability and risks also occupy a large part of his scientific works.
