Biography
Eric Hitimana is a Ph.D. holder and a Lecturer at the University of Rwanda.
Eric, received his Ph.D. in Embedded Computing Systems, at the African Center of Excellence in the Internet of Things (ACEoIT), College of Science and Technology, University of Rwanda in 2023 (2017-2023).
He obtained a Master’s Degree in Computer Engineering from the Chonbuk National University, Jeonju, South Korea in 2014 (2012-2014).
Eric received a bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering and Information Technology from the University of Rwanda College of Science and Technology (Former KIST) in 2010 (2006-2010).
Eric has contributed to the development of different Rwandan IT solutions: The development of the Kinyarwanda-to-Kinyarwanda Dictionary under RARC & CNRU 2017-2020; the Design and development of the Service Delivery System contest under RGB & UNDP 2015-2016. Technical developer and reporter in the patient trajectory module for district hospitals VLIR-UOS under the University of Rwanda and Ghent University, Belgium 2020-2022.
Eric has published and co-authored a good number of research papers in leading international journals and conferences. His research interests cover most aspects of Internet of Things applications, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Edge and Cloud Computing, Intelligent systems, Image Processing, Computer Graphics, Software Applications, and other related fields.
