Biography
Prof. Zhu Jianbo is a doctoral supervisor in the Institute of Deep Earth Science & Green Energy at Shenzhen University. Prof. Zhu meanwhile works as the executive director of the Guangdong Provincial Key Laboratory of Deep Earth Science and Geothermal Development and Utilization, and the deputy director of the China National Key Laboratory of Deep Engineering Intelligent Construction and Health Operation.

Prof. Zhu has been engaged in research on rock dynamics over a long period, and has been focusing on the major needs and scientific frontiers of deep energy resource development and geotechnical engineering construction. His research interests involve the theory of wave propagation in discontinuous rock masses, dynamic fracture behavior of fractured rock masses, dynamic response and protection of rock engineering, mechanism and prevention of deep dynamic disasters, and has received a series of achievements.
Prof. Zhu has directed a number of scientific research projects funded by governments, institutions and enterprises. He has published 72 JCR Q1 SCI journal papers, with over 2500 citations and an h-index of 31 in the Web of Science core collection. He has been authorized 7 patents in China and USA. He is a member of the Rock Dynamics Committee of the International Society for Rock Mechanics. He serves as guest editor and editorial board member of several SCI journals including the two leading journals in the field of rock mechanics (Int J Rock Mech Min Sci and Rock Mech Rock Eng), and as reviewer for more than 60 international journals.
